I spent a few days without hearing and other tidbits...

About once a year my ears get clogged up and I have to clean them out good in order to hear gain. I only have one good ear since my left eardrum was removed when I was a kid. I still hear out of it but barely. This past Sunday I was q-tipping my ears when I must've pushed some wax deep into my good ear. I basically couldn't hear...I didn't freak out at first since this happens at least once a year. I went to work on Monday and I could barely hear anything. Pretty much everything that was said to me I had to have repeated and even then I probably didn't hear it. BTW I work in customer care, thank God we're not getting calls yet....
The problem persisted for a couple days and it really started to worry me. At Holiday's advice I took some Sudafed and it's working, I can kinda sorta hear again. It was a very weird and strangely peaceful situation. I like to hear things though so I don't wish that on myself again..

So it's 2009, I'm back in L.A. I really do love this city. Like all places it has it's ups and downs but it is a fairly comfortable place to live (if you like fun and adventure in your life). I have a job, a customer service job, but it pays really well and it's a good company. I'm going to do my best there..

Living life, loving my new computer, enjoying my job and thankful to be alive..

History

This one is mostly for me to remember this day for years to come....NOVEMBER 4th 2008, the year Barack Hussein Obama became President of the United States of America.....

I am not a Democrat or a Republican. I've always been in the middle because I never really trusted or understood either side. It's not just Obama that captivated me it's the fact that he inspired so many people including me..It wasn't all about him. For me I just wanted this country to get back to being progressive or at least focus more on that...I've always been fascinated with the future and now it looks like we can look forward now and not just stay the same ...

I've never been an outwardly patriotic..I love being an American but I also care what the rest of the world thinks and we are a global society. So this is not just a good thing for the US but hopefully for the world.

So that's my take on this day in history...I am proud to be a part of it and finally welcome optimism ...

Will work for food....

No I am not homeless just jobless at the moment. After a year or so of touring around the country for Shirts for a Cure and living in various cities I decided to move back to Los Angeles. My heart and soul was just not comfortable back in Pennsylvania. So the challenge I now face is finding gainful employment during an economic crisis. Suffice to say it hasn't been easy, not that I expected it to be. L.A. is such a vast city there has to be something for me, something I can ride a bike or take a bus too though. I sold my truck over a year ago so I must rely on public transportation or my own legs. I'm writing more for myself in hopes of looking back on it in the months ahead and being grateful for whatever job I may have...

So the hunt continues....

Mini-retirements...

Do you ever get a chance to just stop and enjoy life? I don't mean a vacation or the weekend.. Well I've had that chance a few times this year. At the moment I tour for a living. I only do a few tours a year so that means I have months of free time. I have chosen to spend those months living in different places. I lived in NY/NJ for two months and it was wonderful. Most recently I have been spending my down time in my old hoods in Los Angeles. This time, thanks to some amazing friends who let me crash with them I have been able to enjoy the city like I never had the chance before..

I've been splitting my time between Redondo Beach and Silverlake using the Metro rail to get around. When you have a car which you pretty much can't go without living in LA you don't really take advantage of the public transportation. I will say it is very helpful. All of the things I took for granted when I lived here I truly appreciate now, especially my friends..

Not many people get a chance to do what I'm doing right now, which is giving up a normal 9-5 job to live and travel and occasionally work.. I feel blessed to have this opportunity and cherish each moment.. I look forward to my next job and my next adventure...

Crossroad...

Have I hit an emotional rock bottom? Here I am at 32,wondering what I'm going to do with my life.. I know most people would say "hey man, you are lucky you can do whatever you want" which I guess is true. In my head I feel I should be past all of this. No one
is pressuring me to get married and start having kids but my paternal instincts are kicking in.
I think I've accomplished many things in my life but there is one more thing I really want to do, travel the world. I'm working my way to achieving this goal and honestly once I do this I think I will be ready to start a family. All I know is that when I eventually do get married my family will be my number 1 priority.
This kind of life I'm living now is fun and exciting and will be great for stories in the future. I guess I need to learn how to live more in the moment..

What is to come? Who knows..we'll just have to see I guess

My digital eyes..

So the other day I purchased a digital camera. I haven't owned a camera for years so I wasn't sure what to expect. I must say they are load s of fun. If you have a good eye and good timing you can capture some really cool images especially in NYC.

I was out and about the other day and shot some city photos...I like them hope you do to..

It's only a wallet Bobby Soup....

So Wednesday morning I was getting ready to walk out the door to head back to PA. for a few days when I realized my wallet was gone.. My first instinct was to check my bank account and come to find out someone went on a little shopping spree with my cards. So my wallet was stolen. I didn't panic really, maybe for a sec but as I called my bank and credit card companies I assessed the damage and to be honest I think I'll live. I did lose my license and SS card (yes I know you are not supposed to carry around in your wallet).
I have an idea of who did it but I don't have proof and to be honest it's not worth making a huge deal out of it. I figure I'll let karma takes it's course ( makes me wonder if I have bad karma though)..
A lot of positive things have come out of it though..I stayed in the city because one of my best friends and old roommate is coming to NY for the weekend to visit. I also had a very busy and fun day in the city today so it kinda worked out for the best..

For some a major crisis for others an inconvenience.....
