Mini-retirements...

Do you ever get a chance to just stop and enjoy life? I don't mean a vacation or the weekend.. Well I've had that chance a few times this year. At the moment I tour for a living. I only do a few tours a year so that means I have months of free time. I have chosen to spend those months living in different places. I lived in NY/NJ for two months and it was wonderful. Most recently I have been spending my down time in my old hoods in Los Angeles. This time, thanks to some amazing friends who let me crash with them I have been able to enjoy the city like I never had the chance before..

I've been splitting my time between Redondo Beach and Silverlake using the Metro rail to get around. When you have a car which you pretty much can't go without living in LA you don't really take advantage of the public transportation. I will say it is very helpful. All of the things I took for granted when I lived here I truly appreciate now, especially my friends..

Not many people get a chance to do what I'm doing right now, which is giving up a normal 9-5 job to live and travel and occasionally work.. I feel blessed to have this opportunity and cherish each moment.. I look forward to my next job and my next adventure...
